Judges’ decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.

Starting Date: 01/11/2021

Closing Date for entries: March 31st 2022 GMT. Any entries received after the Closing Date will not be considered for inclusion into the competition.

Entrants must be able travel on dates 12/09/2022 - 20/09/2022

Prize is not transferrable or redeemable for cash.

If an entrant is unable to travel the prize will be awarded to the next highest scoring entrant.

Governing law is New Zealand law.

Entrants must be double vaccinated for Covid-19.

Entrants must have a valid passport and valid entry visas (if applicable) into New Zealand.

This competition is open to bartenders who are legal residents of (or legally permitted to work in) the United Kingdom or New Zealand and are at least 18 years old.

The following may not enter or win a prize: (a) employees of Cardrona Distillery or anyone related to them.

Entrants must work at a venue which is a Cardrona customer and the venue must list a cocktail including at least one Cardrona spirit between the dates of 1/11/2021-16/04/2022.

Entrants must be able to travel to regional finals if selected from the social media entry stage.

Travel, transfers, accommodation, meals and travel insurance will be covered by Cardrona Distillery for the Grand Finals in Cardrona, New Zealand.

There is a maximum of one entry per bartender.

· USE OF CONTENT: By entering the competition, Entrants grant Cardrona Distillery the irrevocable, perpetual (non-exclusive) permission and right to use any and all Materials, Promotion entries, recipes, photographs, videos, voice recordings and any other media relating to the competition or the Entrant supplied to, or captured by, Cardrona Distillery in connection with the Competition:
a) for the purposes of administering this competition;
b) for promotional and publicity purposes in any media throughout the world

Details of Competition

WINNER SELECTION & NOTIFICATION
Winners will be selected to go through to the regional final by a number of local judges following the closing date, The judges will score the social media entries and filter down to 12 regional finalists (6 regions per country), based on the criteria set forth below.

1 winner will be selected from each regional final – resulting in 6 competing UK bartenders and 6 competing NZ bartenders at the Grand Final in Cardrona, New Zealand.
Winning entries will be those which achieve the highest score in the opinion and discretion of the local judging panel, based on scoring criteria involving the Mixology Skill, Taste, Presentation & Cardrona Magic. Flavour judged on inspiration and story behind the drink and assumed flavour profile based on the ingredients and image.


Entrants who have been successful in progressing to the regional final will be notified and sent details of the date and times of the regional final. Entrants who have not been successful will be notified personally by their relevant territory manager.

Successful Entrants will be contacted by telephone, but if we are unsuccessful in reaching the entrant we will also email. Entrants should ensure they check their spam/bulk/junk folders for notification as they will need to confirm via email or telephone to their local competition contact person that they can attend and compete within seven days of the email being sent. If Entrants cannot be contacted or fail to confirm their attendance, they will lose their chance to compete at the regional/grand final.

COMPETING
Twelve Entrants will be invited to compete in a regional final, applicable to their region. UK regional finals will be held in Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Brighton & London. NZ regional finals will be held in Queenstown, Christchurch, Wellington, Tauranga and Auckland. Twenty-four entrants will be invited to the London and Auckland regional finals respectively. Regional finals are scheduled across April & May 2022. Entrants will be informed of the exact date, time and details of the event, when they are contacted.

SCORING
Entrants will be judged on the same scoring criteria as in the social media round. Each category carries a maximum score of 20 with the exception of 'Taste' which is scored up to a maximum of 40 . The total achievable score is 100. The cocktail that receives the highest score will be declared the winner. Each regional final judging panel will consist of two judges. The global final judging panel will consist of three judges. No judge will be a Cardrona employee.
The winner of the regional finals will be announced on the night of the regional finals. One winner will be announced per region, and one runner-up to take up the place in the finals in the event the winner is unable to travel. Two winners will be announced at the London and Auckland regional finals respectively, and two runners-up.

PRIZE
Each regional winner will win a trip to the Cardrona Distillery in New Zealand. The prize comprises a return economy class flight from a city to arrive on 12-20th September 2022. Dates are subject to change. Cardrona will pay for flights from the designated departure city, including travel insurance, the cost of transfers to and from the Cardrona Distillery, accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner, as applicable while in New Zealand. If the regional winner is unable to travel for any reason the prize is forgone and will be awarded to the next highest-ranking entrant in the region.

The winners will compete in a Grand Final event at the Cardrona Distillery, New Zealand to become the global winner. Winners will create and present the same cocktail as they initially entered.

Legal Details

LIABILITY - The following exclusions of liability will apply. References to the "Promoter" in this Liability section include all of the Promoter's associated companies, agents or any other third party assisting the Promoter in the Promotion.
*The Promoter will not be responsible for (and will have no liability in connection with) the following occurrences, to the extent that they occur for reasons beyond the Promoter's reasonable control:
a) Any postponement or cancellation of the Promotion;
b) Any changes to the prizes or the way in which they can be used; and
c) Problems with the dispatch of prizes (such as a prize failing to reach the intended recipient).

* Without limiting the generality of the previous section, Promoter shall not be held liable for any failure or delay in fulfilling any obligations in these Terms and Conditions, if such failure or delay is due to circumstances beyond Promoter's reasonable control, including, but not limited to, if Promoter determines, in its sole discretion, that it is advisable to cancel or postpone any scheduled event (or prize) in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 or any other communicable illness.
*The Promoter does not accept responsibility for network, computer, hardware or software failures of any kind, which may affect the sending, receipt or processing of an entry or for entries lost, damaged, delayed or unreadable, including loss of entries through technical fault or transmission delays.
*If the Promoter has grounds to suspect any Entrant or third party of cheating, deception or fraudulent or unsportsmanlike conduct of any kind (including, without limitation, manipulating the promotion, choice of prize winner(s) or any entry (or establishing multiple registrations in order to gain multiple entries where the number of entries is limited) the Promoter reserves the right (in its sole discretion) to disqualify any Entrant, entry or person it reasonably believes to be responsible for, or associated with, such activity.
*The winner should be in good health and appropriately fit for travel and waives any claim they may have against the Promoter for any safety or health issue or problem they may have during travel.
*The Promoter shall not be liable under these Terms and Conditions, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) for breach of statutory duty or otherwise:
a) for any loss of profit, saving, business or economic loss (in each case whether direct or indirect); or
b) for any indirect, special or consequential loss.
